Not Recommended – CREP (Child Restraint Evaluation Program) is now called child car seats as there is too many reports of CREP making inconsistent ratings and ranking. rating a perfect safety score of 5/5 when the testing was done incorrectly.
Depth of Isofix PointsMost notably Child Car seats ranked the Nuna Pipa Klik Capsule with a 5 star rating for isofix installation. The Installation test was done on a crash sled with the isofix points recessed 5 cm. The fact remains that most car have the isofix points sitting proud of the seat or only recessed 1cm – 2cm. Meaning the seat sat away from the car seat and there was no possibility to push the isofix towards the cars seat like with the (now retired) Britax Trufix.
Rigid Isofix Installation
The rigid isofix sits too far away from the cars seat to provide a reliable installation in rebound. as wellas the fact that it is not possible to push the isofix base closer to the cars seat, like many other rigid isofix seats.
Stabilising Bar
The stabilising bar is too vertical and struggles to prevent rebound in emergency braking. All other baby car seats and capsules utilise a rebound bar that is reclined towards the seat or they use a rebound base like infa secure and Joie car seats.
Travel System
The only positive is the fact the capsule uses the Maxi Cosi adaptor system allowing for easy connection to prams that use the Maxi Cosi capsule travel adaptor system. Allowing the capsule to fit onto a number of prams; including bugaboo prams.
General UsageConnecting your Nuna Pipa Klik capsule onto the base is a very straight forward operation and does not require tedious efforts to align the latch to the connecting bar like with many Maxi Cosi capsules and the spirit level on the base gives you peace of mind knowing your child is at the correct restraining angle.
